Scottish connection: 1801-1804, James Mackay was the third commandant of the district of St. Charles. Mackay explored and mapped the Missouri River before Lewis and Clark arrived.

The Lewis & Clark Fife & Drum Corps will perform on each date listed, 12pm-2pm. The Corps also performs regularly at special events on South Main Street.

Hear interesting stories on Missouri's struggle for statehood. Learn about life in St. Charles when our first legislators were meeting. Hands on Activities include: Butter Churning, Quill Pen Writing, Cow Milking, Candle Dipping, Baby Farm Animals, Wash Board, Hearth Cooking, Storytelling, period skills & crafts, sewing & quilting demonstrations & more.

LEWIS & CLARK HERITAGE DAYS

Lewis & Clark launched their famous journey from the settlement of St. Charles in May, 1804.
